🦉 2025 Recap for Nocturnal Legal

As we look ahead to 2026, we would love to share our highlights from the year and what we look forward to in the year ahead.

Looking back on 2025, Nocturnal Legal had an exciting year.

  • We closed over $100,000,000 in deals with our largest transaction selling at approximately $37,000,000 and our smallest (not in value) a generous gift from parents to their children.

  • We worked across a number of industries helping clients buy and sell businesses like a medical spa, golf course, a luxury lifestyle magazine publication, numerous accounting firms, a street sweeping service provider, and a number of HVAC companies.

  • We launched Merger She Wrote a podcast dedicated to highlighting the stories of buyers, sellers, and advisors key to business owner success when preparing and planning for an exit.

  • Chesney Reeves joined our team as a paralegal and we had her on the podcast (catch the episode here).

  • Jordan and I explored more of the southwest with a trip up to Capital Reef National Park and a hike through Coyote Buttes South. We had the good fortune to climb Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park (see pictures below).

Looking Ahead to 2026:

  • We now offer a distinct roadmap for clients looking to sell or transition their business in the next 3-5 years as well as a roadmap for clients who have purchased a business, but are struggling to integrate or step into the shoes of the new owner. We’re calling these roadmaps the Business Transition Mastery Program. Reply to this email if you would like to learn more.

  • I never thought I would say this, but I plan to “go live” on TikTok starting in January to answer questions about how to buy or sell a business as well as discuss general business topics (e.g., scaling and growth).

  • My hourly rate is increasing $20 as of January 1, 2026.

  • Some of you know already that I drive a Jeep. There’s a thing with Jeep owners where people leave you miniature rubber ducks as a friendly gesture. To add some fun to our annual marketing plan, we started a duck campaign leaving mini mallards on local Jeeps around the valley (see picture below).

  • We continue to be in search of podcast guests who are interested in talking about their personal experience buying or selling a business. If this is of interest to you or someone you know, please reply to this email or make an introduction.

We are grateful for the connections and clients that we have met and supported over the past year and we look forward to continuing to provide our support in the new year.

Wishing you and your family a beautiful holiday!
